O Lord, our protector and guide, we lift up to you our sons and daughters who have answered the call to serve their communities as police officers. We thank you for their courage, their strength, and their willingness to put themselves in harm's way for the sake of others.
We know that their path is not easy.
They face danger, witness suffering, and are often confronted with the worst of humanity. We ask for your special protection upon them. Surround them with your love and shield them from all harm, both physical and spiritual.
Grant them wisdom and discernment in their decisions. Help them to act with justice and compassion, always upholding the law while showing mercy and understanding. Give them strength to resist the temptations of power and corruption, and keep them grounded in integrity.
Comfort them in times of stress and fear. Be their refuge in moments of danger. Remind them of your constant presence and the unwavering love you have for them. Help them to remember that they are not alone, for you are always with them.
Bless their families, who also serve through their support and sacrifice. Grant them peace of mind and the assurance of your loving care. May they find comfort and strength in their faith and in the knowledge that their loved ones are doing your work.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
